Artwork > Leaf Skeletons

Robyn reshapes her family’s power bills into delicate leaf skeletons. The series draws a poetic connection between trees, fossil fuels and electricity through the interplay of the ephemera and the beautiful decay of the leaves. Ironically, the bills are testament to the artists personal carbon footprint. Placed upon a black background the works assume the role of memento mori – a reminder that life is fleeting.
